Camille Claudel was a French sculptress who lived at the end of the nineteenth and the beginning of the twentieth century. She was a contemporary of the famous French sculpture Auguste Rodin, with whom she had an affaire d’amour for some time. In our study we conclude that her influence on sculpture, even on the oeuvre of Rodin, was much greater than has been assumed. We examined the reasons behind the lack of recognition in her time and her rediscovery after the eighties as an artist who left an impressive oeuvre.
