Titan is a rehabilitation company for at-risk youth between 16- 27 years old. This study examined whether a relationship exists between participants’ demographic characteristics (i.e. ethnicity, age, context of enrollment), coping, achievement motivation, and their satisfaction with the trajectory at Titan. In addition, it is investigated if avoidant and negatively coping styles occur more than average, and an active coping style less than average compared to the norm group. Thirty individuals with a mean age of 21.33 years participated in the study. The Utrechtse Coping Lijst (UCL) and the Prestatie Motivatie Test (PMT) were completed. Furthermore a satisfaction questionnaire was completed. The results show that none of the variables predicted satisfaction with the trajectory at Titan. However it showed that the coping styles ‘palliative reaction’, ‘avoidance -’, and ‘passive reaction pattern’ were used more often than the norm group average. Active coping was used as often as in the norm group. The results are critically discussed, looking for an explanation concerning the lack of expected results and suggestions for future research.
