Purpose. Research indicated that children of divorced parents are showing more internalizing and externalizing problems compared to children belonging to intact families. It is suggested that well-being is moderated by factors, such as copingstyle. The purpose of this study was to investigate the correlation between children’s well-being after their parent’s divorce and coping with parental conflict. In addition, the role of age, sex and time since parental divorce on children’s well-being was investigated. Methods. In this study ANOVA’s, MANOVA and regression analyses were used. Results. The sample (n=166) shows that coping with parental conflict plays a major role in the well-being of children between 7-13 years. Conclusion. When controlling for coping, a significant difference in well-being is found between boys and girls after divorce. Coping is related to the well-being of children after divorcement of parents. The correlation between well-being and age is not significantly and consistently demonstrated. The time since parental divorce does not play a significant role in the well-being of children.
