In 414 Orose left Nothern Africa to research in Palestine the Pelagian heresy for Augustine of Hippo. In Palestine he became aquainted with Jerome, a fervent polemist of the Pelegian heresy. In order to help those accusing Pelagius at the Synod of Diopolis in 415, Orose wrote the 'Liber Apologeticus'. This thesis exames the 'Liber Apologeticus' and its context.
