The protection of refugees is regulated by international law, however the acceptance of asylum seekers is a national matter. The tension between protection of national interests by national governments and the international protection of refugees leads to different perspectives on the acceptance of asylum seekers. These different perspectives can be found in policy texts on different levels on governance. This thesis shows the results of a text analysis on the perspectives and interests on the acceptance of asylum seekers in policy texts on international, European, national, subnational and oranizational level. In this analysispolicy implications due to globalization and the use of (high tech) ICT are included.
