It is a close image reading of the most recent award-winning photographs Willeke Duijvekam. He did a portrait series to a transsexual teenage girl in Netherlands. Not surprisingly, it is still a conventional medical discourse that pathologize this girl. From this analysis,I would like to point out the difficult situation that the transsexual community are trapped between gender scholarships and the public opinion, saying the "crossing" or "passing" strategy of body usage. Based on this reading and analysis, I purpose transsexual's "strategic embodiment" to points out a possible route of the coming activism.
