Objective: The purpose of the present study was to evaluate the effectiveness of an intervention for children (aged 4-8) living in disadvantaged areas. Method: The effectiveness of the intervention has been evaluated using both parents’ en teachers’ reports with relation to child behaviour and family functioning using a pre-, post- and follow-up test design. Results: The results showed a significant decrease in emotional problems and a significant increase in prosocial behaviour, reported by both parents and teachers. Teachers reported a decrease in problems with peers too. Besides, after intervention, parenting problems were significantly reduced. Conclusions: Despite the study limitations, the results give a clear indicationof the effectiveness of this intervention.
