This study investigated the effect on parenting behaviours of a social skills training for children with externalizing problem behaviour. It also investigated the relation of this effect with a possible change in child aggression due to the intervention. Ratings of parental involvement, positive parenting techniques, monitoring, over reactivity, inconsistent discipline and aggression were collected with questionnaires from 112 children age 8-12 and their parents in the Netherlands. There was no effect of the intervention on parenting behaviour except for an improvement in parental involvement of mothers. There was no effect of the intervention on aggression.
