This study explores why households in Southwestern Bangladesh remain despite climate threats. Migration intent rises with exposure and regional ties, but land ownership and social networks foster staying. A threshold analysis shows migration surges only after cumulative shocks. An Agent-Based Model reveals non-migration is often deliberate and resource-dependent. Policies should secure land rights, build social capital, and enable safe migration to support both resilience and mobility.
