My thesis analyzes World Press Photo winners (2022–2025) using the framework of Godulla et al. (2021) on topics, negativity, and power. By comparing approx. 400 awarded images, it assesses whether the organization’s recent shift to regional and global juries has increased diversity in awarded projects. The study contributes to debates on representation, equity, and intercultural communication in visual journalism.
