The differential expression of transposable element (TE) DNA has been detected in RNA- sequencing experiments studying autoimmune or autoinflammatory diseases, prompting questions on how transposable elements can affect the process of inflammation in immune cells. In this study, we analyze the expression of TE DNA in monocyte cells before and after LPS- activation, as well as in ex vivo sJIA-patient monocyte cells.
