This thesis investigates the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) through a climate justice lens. It examines distributive, procedural, recognitional, and restorative justice dimensions. CBAM is designed to prevent carbon leakage by putting a price on carbon and incentivize decarbonization outside the EU. However, the policy has raised concerns regarding its impacts on Global South countries. This thesis draws on semi-structured interviews with climate experts.
