Through in-depth interviews with employees at Dutch National Opera & Ballet, I look at what the organization has done in order to attract a more culturally diverse audience. I take two productions specifically aimed at diversity - 'OUM: A Son's Quest for his Mother,' and 'How Anansi Saved the Stories of the World' - as case studies and analyze the interviews using the concepts of distinction and cultural capital as described by Bourdieu.
