dc.description.abstract | In this thesis, I focus on the Dutch governmental context of AI-system applications, specifically on transparency about AI-system use in municipalities. I answer the research question: Should municipalities be transparent about ethical considerations when deploying AI-systems? I first lay out the Dutch status quo on AI-use and transparency practices. Then I go over the academic literature on the topic of transparency about AI-systems in the public sector and finally I discuss various arguments based on the academic literature for and against transparency about ethical considerations. | |
