The city of Turin has undergone significant socio-economic transformations, influencing urban and social life. After the crisis Turin divided into two post-industrial sides with a poor southeast and a more affluent west. This side actively reshaped the area, with one of the initiatives being car sharing services. This study explores the relationship between the socio-economic segregation in Turin's neighborhoods and car sharing utilization. The analysis indicates that socio-economic factors like education, income, and unemployment rates have limited influence on car sharing usage, while geographic location plays a more significant role. However, car sharing appears to facilitate movement between neighborhoods of varying socio-economic statuses, potentially reducing segregation. These findings suggest car sharing can promote social integration and mobility in urban environments. Understanding this impact can inform urban planning and transportation policies, contributing to more inclusive and sustainable cities. Further research is needed to replicate these findings in different cities and explore other clustering algorithms with additional variables.
