dc.subject | Staphylococcus aureus bacteremia (SAB) is a significant cause of hospital-acquired bloodstream infections, often leading to severe complications such as infective endocarditis (IE). Routine transthoracic echocardiography (TTE) is recommended for all patients with SAB, however, the diagnostic yield of TTE in low-risk cases remains unclear. This study aims to determine how often TTE detects IE in adult patients with hospital-acquired catheter-related SAB. | |
