dc.subjectThe Ambrose-Singer theorem relates the Lie algebras of the holonomy groups associated to a connection to its curvature form. This thesis discusses the theory of holonomy using Lie algebroids and Lie groupoids, and attempts to prove the Ambrose-Singer theorem from this new perspective.
