dc.subjectNationalism was a prevalent topic in Europe during the late nineteenth century, particularly in France. Marixms is known to be a transnational ideology. However, Marx and Engels theorised nationalism in their ideology. Given the context, the perception, and thus, the expression of nationalism was different among different Marxist groups. This thesis analysed the impact of the context on the expression of nationalism in the Marxist press in France from 1886 to 1906.
