In this project, a single cell RNA sequencing dataset of biliary cells was analyzed during liver injury and recovery in order to identify the biological pathways responsible for biliary epithelial cell driven liver regeneration and repair. The functions of three genes were studied in hepatic progenitor cells using a CRISPR knock-out approach.
