dc.description.abstractThis thesis focuses on into the impact of the benefits provided by fair trade handicraft organizations in the Phnom Penh area. Several organizations focusing on disadvantaged producers such as former prostitutes, physically handicapped and rural poor are included in the research. The main objective of this research is to provide insights on how the activities of fair trade producer organizations increases the freedom of producers. The thesis is based on Amartya Sen's perspective on development.
