dc.subject | As old as the existence of art is the discussion of artistic freedom. Some argue that it is a significant right for Western democratic countries, while others posit it to be a disguised possibility to exceed normative boundaries. In this thesis, I will explore artistic freedom from the perspective of Dutch cabaret artists to gain insights into their understanding and implementation of this notion. In doing so, provocation through cabaret is considered the entry point of the research. | |
