dc.subject | Biofuels, made from lignocellulosic biomass, are a green alternative to the use of fossil fuels. However, biofuels can currently not compete with fossil fuel prices. Fungi can help break down the lignocellulose structure with lower environmental impact than other current methods. Also, fungi themselves can form the biomass which can be used for biofuel production or their derivatives can be applied for higher efficiency. | |
