dc.description.abstract | This thesis investigates how CNN Digital represented the Israeli-Palestinian conflict in the days following Donald Trump’s recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel on December 6th, 2017, and the opening of the US embassy in the holy city on May 14th, 2018. The multimodal research sought to answer how the conflict is represented in images and text and how these interact, drawing on the multimodal framing devices of Belmonte and Porto (2020) including topic choice, composition, distance, and point of view (POV). | |
