This study aims to determine the effect of a 12L:12D green light cycle during incubation on fearfulness in two different hybrid crosses of laying chicks. Specifically, it investigates the effects of lighted incubation on White Leghorn (WL) and ISA Brown (IB) laying chicks on fear related behaviour in a novel environment test (NET), on feather pecking behaviour and on feather corticosterone (CORT) concentration. It also investigates the interaction between fearfulness and feather pecking.
