The first topic is about a lens (superSIL) which can collect more light emitted from the sample plus it is compatible under cryogenic conditions. The performance of our light instrument was evaluated before and after addition of this superSIL, and an improvement in resolution was determined. The second topic is a data processing study about tubular structures in extremophile Pyrococcus furiosus. Data was acquired with cryo-electron tomography. Tube has 17 subunits per ring and shows symmetry.
