This evaluation study examines the appreciation and subjective effects of psychosocial support in the Netherlands by people who have (had) cancer. In addition, the relation between appreciation, subjective effects and quality of life of the participants is examined. A questionnaire was completed by people who ended a form of psychosocial therapy (N = 41) or a psychosocial activity (N = 44). The questionnaire included parts of the European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer Quality of Life Questionnaire C30 (EORTC QLQ-C30) and the Client Satisfaction Questionnaire (CSQ). Participants were very content with the psychosocial support they received. This was related to the effects of the psychosocial support they experienced, which in turn was related to the quality of life of the participants. These results may influence the development and acceptance of psychosocial support in the Netherlands.
