In this study a multivariable regression analysis was performed to determine the predictability of quality of one-week old broiler chickens. The parameters used were data collected from the breeder of the broilers and data collected in an experiment in wich chickens of 12 different origins were hatched and raised in controlled circumstances. We concluded that the quality of 7-day-old chickens could be associated with different parameters in several models. Two groups of models were used. One of these groups contained only ‘scientifically’ collected data, e.g. data derived from the experiment, the other one only data collected from the breeder. It was shown that there was little difference in the two groups of models.
