The aim of the current study is to investigate the relationship between mother’s tolerance and consistency, and adolescent’s delinquency. It will be examined if there are negative relations between mother’s tolerance and consistency and adolescent’s delinquency. The current study is longitudinal. The sample contains 406 adolescents, 224 boys and 182 girls, and their mothers. Delinquency is examined two times; first when the adolescent was 13 years old, and then when the adolescent was 17 years old. Tolerance and consistency were only measured during early adolescence. Results indicated a negative relationship between consistency of the mother and delinquency of the adolescent. Further research using different measures of delinquency and regarding influence of consistency at older age, is recommended.
