dc.description.abstract | In this thesis the question of how two film versions of Great Expectations alter the plot of the novel to adapt it to the film medium. Beginnings and endings being the most important points for the plot, they will be the focus of my analyses. It will be shown that the films apparent fidelity to the original is only retained up until the ending, where the most significant differences become clear. | |
