Social enterprises face specific challenges in blooming their organization. Therefore constructing a good organizational image is of great importance. Image can be changed by changing the organizational culture, therefore, cultural control is of great importance too for social enterprises. This research is conducted in a social enterprise that deploys cultural control to express an organizational image. The focus is on how the members of the organization make sense of the cultural control by the organizational management. This article is a summary of the qualitative research I conducted. Therefore, only two findings are discussed. All findings lead to similar conclusions. By means of the symbolic artifacts that the organization deploys, the organization shows characteristics of a greedy institution. Furthermore, some symbolic artifacts seem to exist as a social defence mechanism.
