This study examined whether job satisfaction spills over into the psychological availability of working parents for their children. Secondly, this study investigated the moderating effect of work-family integration on this relation. A survey was conducted among 106 Dutch working parents from dual-earner families, with children in the age of 4-18. Using a Pearson correlation test, no relation was found between job satisfaction and psychological availability. Using a multiple regression analysis, no moderating effect on this relation was found for role-integration. The study did find a negative relation between integration of work and family roles and psychological availability. Although the relation between job satisfaction and psychological availability was not found, the results suggest more research to these topics is needed.
