dc.description.abstract | Joseph Conrad´s Heart of Darkness was one of the most influential novels of its time and many of the themes are still relevant today. Although Conrad´s novel has a variety of renowned adaptations, such as Coppola´s Apocalypse Now, video game adaptations have remained relatively untouched. One of these adaptations is Ubisoft´s Far Cry 2. In Far Cry 2, players have to fight their way through a rough African jungle to assassinate a corrupted warlord. This paper will focus on the way that Kurtz was adapted into Far Cry 2 and on the context that facilitates a mental descent into darkness. | |
