| dc.description.abstract | This*thesis*looks*at*how*fear*is*stylistically*brought*about*in*The$Victorian$Chaise-longue.$It* discusses*the*novella*within*the*Gothic*genre*and*then*goes*on*to*explain*through*what* stylistic*means*the*sense*of*fear*instilled*in*the*main*character*as*well*as*the*reader*is* achieved.*Hereafter*an*analysis*of*translation*problems*that*arise*is*performed*according*to* Nord’s*categories.*This*is*followed*by*an*annotated*Dutch*translation*of*three*different* fragments*from*the*novella.**** | |
