dc.description.abstract	This Bachelor’s Thesis revolves around subtitling BBC/HBO series Rome’s first season finale, “Kalends of February”. This paper researches the historical accuracy and more importantly how this can be preserved in subtitles. Therefore both subtitling and translation theory will be investigated, most importantly various subtitling restraints, Toury’s theories on equivalence and Holmes’s work on historisation.
