In this thesis I will compare two novels by two authors who are both often referred to as cosmopolitan: Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s Americanah (2013) and Toni Morrison’s novel God help the child (2015). To answer my research question I will focus on the cosmopolitan aspects in both novels and to what extent afropolitanism can be helpful in determining both novels as cosmopolitan.
