This thesis explores the relationship and influence of agency and structure in the case of entrepeneurship in the Dutch Golden Age. Institutions like the banking system made it possible for entrepeneurs to gain access to funds and invest them into their undertakings. The Dutch creative industry came to flourish under institutional advancements and the entrepeneurship of traders. This thesis investigates this relationship further.
