This thesis focusses on the role of the international relation between the United States of America and The Netherlands in the period 1942 - 1945. This relationship enabled the creation and training of the Royal Netherlands Marine Corps Brigade on US soil for the liberation of the Dutch East-Indies. However, WW2 ended before the training was concluded. Despite the wishes of the Dutch government the Brigade was no longer allowed to stay on US soil. Original archived documents were used to reconstruct the relation from the creation of the Brigade untill the end of their training.
