The purpose of this study is to give further insight to observing the D" discontinuity with the use of shear waves and investigate if stacking is indeed required or not. We tested the possibility to use a single seismogram method to observe the SdS reflections and measure the corresponding D" discontinuity topography, as opposed to the stacking method before. We imaged the D" discontinuity and concluded to an average depth of 2690km.
Observations of the D" discontinuity, using ScS and its SdS pre cursors and interpretation in terms of the perovskite to post-perovskite phase transition.
