dc.description.abstractThis thesis examines the extent to which American foreign policy influenced French foreign policy regarding European integration during the Fourth French Republic. First the American and French desires and tools of influence are established after which this influence is examined with case studies of the ECSC, EDC and the Treaty of Rome.
