In the wake of the 65th anniversary of the Universal Declaration on Human Rights (UDHR) and the 25th anniversary of the UNCRC, this thesis attempts to contribute to the controversial human rights debate about the importance of the UNCRC for ICA by providing considerable insights on the question to what extent plausible explanations can be given for the removal of the UNCRC from the AC. The conclusions drawn in this thesis form a direct threat to the UNCRC and in particular to the subsidiarity principle of the UNCRC.
