dc.description.abstractCaja Ludica is a theatre collective in Guatemala-City working with marginalized youngsters from bad neighborhoods and rural areas. This thesis describes the practice of this organization and places it in the wider context of Latin american postcolonial thinking as well as theory on theatre from this continent. The third chapter explains postcolonialism in Latin America relevant for Caja Ludica, this includes also Mayan Cosmovision. The third chapter is dedicated to the practice of popular theatre in Latin America, most notably in the work of Augusto Boal and Enrique Buenaventura. Chapter Five describes the practice of Caja Ludica.
