dc.description.abstractText-to-phoneme (T2P) mapping is a necessary step in any speech synthesis system. For some languages, like English, it can be hard to derive a good set of rules to cover all letter-phoneme correspondences. This paper presents an open-source GUI for training artificial neural networks that is tested on the problem of text-to-phoneme mapping. The results are just below 80% accuracy with a standard feed forward neural network.
