dc.description.abstractThis thesis explores the specifics of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's writing style and his singular type of mystery stories and the difficulties encountered when trying to translate these into Dutch. A translation of a part of one of his most popular stories is provided with footnotes to explain certain translation-related decisions made in the process.
