dc.description.abstract | This thesis provides an outlook to how and to what extent enterprises and businesspeople contribute to local development in the agricultural value chain. By looking at the enterprise as being on the one hand managed by a businessperson with his/her own views of responsibility and on the other hand, having its own firm culture (certain suppliers, type of consumers, impacts etc.), this thesis explores why some enterprises are more responsible than others as well as methods that can be adapted to make responsible business profitable. | |
