This study is following a study conducted by Reinout Eikelboom in which he has developed a laparoscopic simulator that can be used in the small animal Skillslab at the university of Utrecht. This study exists of three parts, in the first part six exercises that can be used in a laparoscopic simulator are developed. In the second part I tried to validate the six exercises by using a group of people who had experience with laparoscopy or endoscopy and a group of unexperienced people. In the process of validation an experiment was developed in which the participant had to practice with all the exercises, their times were scored and penalty’s noted. This process was repeated three times to also evaluate the progress of the participants. In the third part of this study a protocol was written for the use of the simulator and the newly developed exercises. This has been done so the simulator and the exercises can be used without supervision in the future.
