dc.description.abstractA study for the normal values of thromocytes in newborn holstein friesian calves up to an age of 14 days old. There is a part of the study for the normal values. For this study there are taken blood-samples from a group of calves to extract the normal thromocyte counts. The second part of the study was tot compare the stability of thrombocytes in Citrate-tubes in comparison to EDTA-tubes for a time of 72 hours. This study was done in Utrecht for the study to BNP – Bovine Neonatal Pancytopenia. A disorder in calves in the European Union. In the Netherlands it is a problem since 2008. The Veterinarian Health Center (GD Deventer) in Deventer has a study to this disease.
