dc.description.abstract	Many poor families in León have united themselves in cooperatives. They are going to build their houses in LSE; an urban expansion area in León. This thesis is about the reasons to join a cooperative, about the internal rules, the institutional context regarding cooperatives in LSE and finally about the advantages cooperatives can have for their members and for the neighborhood.
