Background: The primary suppose of the study was to test components of Kohlberg' s model, specifically to assess the attitude of a child in the Vreedzame Wijk, or in the Street domain, and what considerations they have to hold on to the same attitude or to switch to a different attitude in the other domain. Method' s: For this study a mixed-method design has been used. There were 124 children interviewed (N=124), in which the focus was on 30 children between 8 and 12 years old. Results: The quantitative data analysis shows that there is no correlation between the attitude that suits the Vreedzame context and the attitude that matches the Street domain. The qualitative data analysis shows that children evaluate the Vreedzame relation positively and that they would like to apply this outside the Vreedzame context. Children assess the rules associated with the Code of the Street attitude negative. However, in many children there is a friction between their attitudes and associated behaviors. Conclusion: Most part of Kohlberg' s theory cannot be confirmed. There is no support found for the idea that the prevailing social norm determines the moral attitude of a child, since it appears that children do not internalize the attitude associate with the Code of the Street. Keywords: attitude, behavior, Code of the Street, context, Kohlberg, Vreedzame Wijk.
