dc.description.abstractThis study investigated the effects of SUMNAL on the developmental skills of Roma children. The qualitative part of this study consisted a comparative study between children that attended SUMNAL (n = 6) and children that have not attended any kind of kindergarten (n = 6) with help from the Early Learning and Development Standards (ELDS). The qualitative part gathered opinions and statements from different kinds of people about SUMNAL by using a questionnaire, free observations and informal conversations. The results of the ELDS did not show significant differences between both groups. However, the results from the qualitative data did show that SUMNAL has a great impact on the developmental skills of children. Further research is needed to generalize the findings of this study to other Early Childhood and Development centers.
