dc.description.abstractWould training in the perception of English speech sounds be beneficial for all of the pupils in a Dutch secondary school class? An experiment was conducted with 54 pupils to find out if the factors of motivation and exposure to the target language influence the effectiveness of perception training of four vowels that are notoriously difficult to perceive correctly for Dutch learners.
